     If any episode of Breaking Bad made you think Walter White has become a despicable man, it was this past Sundays episode.  Aside from previous seasons, where he's poisoned children, let co-workers girlfriends pass away in their own vomit, and EVERYTHING he does to Jesse.  This weekend, he lied to his handicapped son, threatened to frame his brother in law, and STILL manages to hurt Jesse...again.  The only difference this time, is that Jesse called him on it and knows about some of the things he's been lied to about by Walter. Wore this shirt watching "cofessions", pretty fitting for this episode. Jess gives nothing to Hank in the interrogation room we were left off in last Sunday, other than an "eat me" to Hank when he tried the nice cop approach.  Hard for him to swallow since last time Hank spoke to him it was with his fists.  Saul tosses him out with an awesome Rocky movie reference that makes me laugh as I type this....

     "Am I under arrest!?" There's a way to get out of an awkward conversation with your DEA brother in law if you ever saw one.  The great thing about Breaking Bad is that they do not do predictability in that  show.  The title alone, "Buried" would lead one to believe that someone dies, and while people do die it's not anyone really major to name an episode after this last one. None of the above have been buried...yet. 'Buried' picks up where we were left last week after the Hank and Walter's confrontation with  Walter leaving Hank in his garage after his "Tread lightly" threat.  The persona switch between Heisenberg and Walter white can be comedic at times, watching Walter frantically try and get in touch with his wife and move his mega stacks of cash was comedic yet anxiety driven that it crosses over to the audience.  His quick meeting with "Better Call Saul", was also a good scene that Odenkirk found a way to ins...

     Don't let the title mislead you, the film was good.   Elysium stars Matt Damon,  Sharlto Copley, and Jodie Foster in Neil Blomkamps latest film.  Fans of District 9 are familiar with Blomkamp's work and will notice the visual similarities in this film as well as a familiar scenario.  Blomkamp's allegorical story telling style is definitely the thinking man's director for present day sci-fi films and he has yet to disappoint. Got so crazy with Breaking Bad...forgot to post this. Damon gets in "Jason Bourne" shape for this film to play Max Da Costa, a future hard times guy working in a droid factory that makes the bulk of the androids that police and control the regular folk planet side on earth that aren't good enough (or rich enough) for Elysium.  The film takes place in 2154, where two classes of people exist, those good enough to be in Elysium and those that aren't.  The film makes it seem like the qualifying factor to get up ...

     Film noire, or any dark story telling genre is not known for happy endings, so TMZ reporting on Aaron Paul spoiling the ending for everyone should no deter the fans from seeing how it ends.  The characters are bad people, doing bad things and anyone that thinks Walter White or Jesse Pinkman will be riding off into the sunset together have to remember.  These guys are drug dealers and manufacturers, they make and sell a product that has negative effects on peoples lives and those around them. some stuff is too good to spoil. Fanboys of the show, (like myself) will still want to see how they die, if that is the case.  Although the laugh at the end of the clip by Paul can indicate that he was just having a laugh since he was being bothered by Paparazzo.  If anyone thinks the ending will be happy they may have some morality issues.  Enough eater egg foreshadowing is floating around the web to hint at what the video from TMZ is sayi...

   The episode picks up another flash forward that shows us the White residence completely destroyed and abandoned and a very hobo looking Walter White.   Cut to Hank and his number two, nothing is more disturbing than getting bad news while on the ivory throne.  When  Breaking Bad left us last summer Hank's family visit with the Whites was rudely interrupted when he found evidence linking Walter White to Gale Boetticher's "W.W" from the case file.   Nothing could make the turtle go back in its shell like finding out your brother in law is meth kingpin of the ABQ. Mid-loaf jokes aside, last nights episode put us right where we left off and had Hank making a quick exit from the White residence after it all came together while his  lunch was coming apart (thats the last one).  After a pretty bad panic attack, Hank pulls it together and gets cracking on linking all evidence to Walter White being Heisenberg.  The shows character...

     Our favorite cook Walter White begins his goodbyes this weekend, the final episodes of the final season from one of the better shows that have been on TV in a long time.  How do we prepare for our supply of blue to end?  It's one of those things fans don't want to happen but we do want to see what happens, so to help soften the blow of the end, here are some suggestions: Netflix :  For those who are getting into it because of the buzz surrounding the final season, you may want to catch up.  Netflix has all the episodes leading up to the final ones so while we who are caught up wait every week to see the closing chapters of Walt's fate, you can fill in the blanks during this transition period.  AMC will also be airing the episodes this weekend leading up to the final episodes. Memorabilia :  Hardcore fans, probably have some of this stuff.  Stuff like, blue rock candy, licensed T-shirts (that I will be wearing every Sun...

If the ending is good, we will.    Our weekly escapes, or weekend escapes if you binge watch shows on  +Netflix  can run on too long or end in a bitter sweet fashion, on August 11th, AMC will air the final episodes of Breaking Bad to close out the series.  Every season of this show has gotten better, longer, and way more intense than anything I have ever followed on television and as much as I worry about how it will end, I worry more about whether or not it will suck. Breaking Bad is the only show that has never disappointed me with any episode but shows that I did follow to the same degree had a few episodes that made me wonder what was going on creatively.  In a few episodes of some shows and their finales had some content that just made me never want to watch it again.   Lost comes to mind, Smallville was another one I thought was great until it ran a few seasons too long and I never bothered to watch it end.  The Sopranos was one I ...

     The buddy cop film is an oldie but goodie genre, no matter how many of them come out they are always welcome.  Just when you think Denzel Washington may be too old to do something, he up and stars in one of the better buddy cop films of this year, 2 Guns .  He and Mark Wahlberg have instant on screen chemistry and if this film can get a sequel, lets hope its soon. Old school summer movie action. Movies in this genre don't need to be Oscar winning material, they need to be funny, have hot women, action, and great comedic banter.  This film delivers on all that and more, I can't remember a film that had this many people out to get one another since The Way of the Gun .  In a time where the summer movies are pretty much a bombardment of super hero comic book based films, this was a refreshing change,(Although this film too is based off of a Graphic Novel of the same name).  Bill Paxton and Edward James Olmos play some of the key...

       I read on The Hill today that "The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee unanimously advanced legislation on Tuesday to study the impact of violent video games and other media on children."  Every time I read these accusation I get flashbacks of the 80's when Heavy Metal was supposed make us worship the devil, and listening to N.W.A was going to make me hate law enforcement and authority. The entertainment industry is aware of what they are publishing and they do a decent job of putting the information out there so that people know what they are getting.  The problem is they have to pay attention to the warnings that are out there.  I've written about this before , but every time I see those that do not enjoy the escape from the daily grind that playing video games provides trying to demonize the hobby, it bothers me.  For the record, I have a few good friends in law enforcement and I have not sacrificed any ...
