The trailer for Hellboy (2019) came out this week as promised and it seems to have kept the same tone as the previous films minus Abraham Sapien, but this is only the first trailer. The closer April comes the more might be revealed but since Deadpool (2015) showed an 'R' rated film based on a comic book will draw in fans, this could be a good move for the franchise.

The Hellboy movie franchise should have a trailer coming out soon and has already announced the release date for this Spring. David Harbour of Stranger Things will be playing the title character and a poster and a nifty GIF for social media was put out today to start generating some buzz for the 'R' rated reboot of the franchise.

The trailer for the upcoming 2019 Marvel film, Captain Marvel released this week and it seems to do the character justice. With the appearance of the Skrulls in the trailer, it looks like some elements of the "Secret Invasion" storyline may be mixed in with the film version, or at least introduce the Skrulls to use that story in a later film. Anyone that has ever been to the movies for anything Marvel related, thought about "great power" and the responsibility that comes with it got the sad news that one of the greatest storytelling minds of out time has passed away. His ideas are what has driven and influenced what folks refer to as Marvel's Universe and he has made a cameo in nearly all the films related to the characters he had a hand in creating. Mr. Lee passed away on November 12 and his influence has reached many people that have built a career on an industry he could be considered the father of. One of the most touching sentiments on his passing was from one of his biggest fans, that got to work with Lee. Kevin Smith's Instagram post on Lee's passing is probably the best words written, that describes how many Lee's fans feel.

The new trailer for Venom is probably the best looking version of the character to date. The voice and usage of "we" in what is seen here could be good enough to convince anyone on the fence about seeing the movie to give it a chance. The reason fans might not be interested is because of director Ruben Fleischer's c omments at the San Diego Comic-Con where he explained why the Spider-Man symbol does not appear on this version of Venom. "If you look at the comics, in Venom, there is just elements of white within his suit. Because our character does not originate from Spider-Man, it makes no sense to put a spider on his chest. You would be hard presses to go to comic book expo like the New Jersey Comic Expo and not see the likes of Rob Bruce there. If you are not aware, he is the man behind the best horror convention in New Jersey so he wanted to pass on a message for horror fans in the area. First, the NJ Horror Con will be in March. Second, he wants to see you there!

Of all the things that go on during the New Jersey Comic Expo, one of the best reasons to go are the panels. Creatives in the area should look at the schedule and plan to sit in on some of these inspiring and instructive panels featured at this year's Expo November 18 and 19. DYNAMITE comics is holding their second panel this year on making comics to kick off the weekend. The last one they held had Garth Ennis as a special guest who spoke with readers about his creative process and things he is working on with DYNAMITE. Cosplayers are always welcome and have had some of the best and most popular panels in the past so it should be no surprise that the weekend's programming includes Armor Making and professional cosplayer's answering questions about the craft and culture of cosplay for comic-cons. Movie Poster If you are or have ever been a fan of The Justice League than this year's New Jersey Comic Expo (NJCE) is one you cannot miss. Not only is the film coming out on November 17, right before the NJCE and the co-creators of the most famous group in the DC universe will be on hand November 18. Keith Giffen and Kevin Macguire will be in attendance Saturday to hold a panel where they will discuss their history with the franchise, from their debut on the JUSTICE LEAGUE series in the 1980’s and their work on JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL , JUSTICE LEAGUE EUROPE , and JUSTICE LEAGUE AMERICA , as well as their more-recent work with the team. Before +Netflix US & Canada  even released the latest in their Marvel binge library, Iron Fist folks were on the fence or flat out bashing the show. It is best to watch and form your own opinion on anything but after watch the first four episodes, it's a bit understandable why folks aren't exactly happy with it. The biggest thing we can comment on that stands out to us is, Iron Fist aka Danny Rand gets beat up a little too much. For the best martial artist, or at least one of the best on Marvel's roster. He gets beat up by regular people way too much. Never mind other martial artists that are not super powered people. He gets handled by regular old orderlies in a hospital. But, he's able to get past a corporate security team in the first episode and later a hallway filled with axe-wielding triads. The first X-men movie came out in 2000, 17 years later and an 'R' rating Hollywood not only gets Wolverine right but creates a story that would make Chris Claremont proud. Logan is supposed to be the last film Jackman will play the character most fans have associated with the actor and he brings his big acting guns for this one. The story is set in 2029 where most mutants have died off and there are very few left. Logan, Prof. X played by Patrick Stewart again and Caliban are trying to live out the rest of their lives undisturbed. Legends have been written about the X-men in the form of comic books and through one of them, Wolverine has built a bit of celebrity reputation for helping people.  Through the fame of the stories a woman and young girl named Laura find Logan and ask him to help get them to a place called "Eden", in North Dakota. Photos: Ed Carbajal Something noticeable at this year's New Jersey Comic Expo was the collectibles made from 3D printers.  Sure, they've been making news for a while now in the things that can be made. Which is, pretty much anything if you do a Google search. But with a small investment and a good imagination you too could open up a booth at the next Comic-con or collectible show and sell things to fellow fans of whatever genre you're into. The one of display and that seemed in use and best suited was the M3D printer. It seemed perfect to make small busts of iconic characters from comic books and figures from pop culture. The printers were being sold at a different booth but you could see in others the idea is catching on. In the video below you could hear the M3D representative explain some details while seeing it in action. One of the best graphic novels of any Bat-man fan has been made into a highly anticipated animated film. Fans of the book were even more excited to hear it was given an 'R' rating. All the ingredients are there for this long awaited adaptation to be epic. Add the voice over work of Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker and you've got yourself another classic, right? Wrong. The Killing Joke not only fails to honor one of Alan Moore's best works but goes completely off the rails from the opening scene.To give the story some credit, when Barbara Gordon is home when The Joker pays her a visit is never really explained in the book. This film spends a lot of time explaining what would lead to her being home having cocoa with Jim Gordon.   That is probably the closest thing you will get of a spoiler for the film in this review.
