The Playstation 5 specs will be revealed today and with the console generations set to change again, this will be the first look at what folks can expect when they look to upgrade. So, if life got in the way and suddenly you can jump back into gaming, this might be one to watch to help you plan for the new generation of console gaming. There's always that period of deals when it comes near the current console generations and Playstation has always had a great list of greatest hits.  Check out some of the recommendations below and let us know what some of yours are.

I know most reviews here are outdated because I fall behind a lot on keeping up with trending games.  It is because of this I did not get a next generation (now current generation) console.  However, when I saw advertisements for The Evil Within and have been missing a good survival horror game I had to jump on it for the PlayStation 3 this Halloween . Yes, this is a review for the PS3 version so I know people will comment on the graphics but they're not that bad.  The only issue I saw was some blur in losing the crisp edges in some images during cut scenes. The game play is third-person perspective so if you're a fan of first-person shooters where you just run and gun this game will not interest you.  The game consists of stealth, some small puzzle solving, upgrading yourself and your weapons and your survival horror action.  I was not a fan of the camera angles, I'm not sure if they were bad on purpose so as to add to the scare tacti...

     When you read those "Better Late Than Never" reviews here and here , usually ones about games the reason they're being done late is because I happen to still be working on my degree.  Along with that I have a full time job, a relationship, friends, family, other hobbies that get in the way that time just doesn't allow for me to throw down with my friends on line or a single player game like I used to.  While it has made my purchasing games easier and cheaper , I still get left behind on some games. These are only some of the one's I have to finish/start. For me, the biggest reason I have fallen so far behind is school but it made me wonder if it happens to other casual gamers.  I know it shouldn't apply to hardcore gamers, after all that's what makes them hardcore but for the older gamers like myself, we get busy and we fall behind.  I am so far behind, my decision to not jump on a next generation console was brought on by looking at ...

     Next gen console rumors, news, wars and what have you mean nothing...if you only just got a current gen console last spring.  So while you choose to wait out the release dates, games lists, and over all winner of the next gen console dilemma you have plenty of current generation games you can play on the cheap (mostly) while you're biding your time.  If you just got a PS3, IGN just released their list of the top 25 games for that console here .  There's also a new blurb for the Xbox One here  from Engadget, and it's being able to support 8 controllers (cuz Xbox Live doesn't hold enough players?)      I think Microsoft's Xbox one may have overshot whatever they were going for, it's really big looking and personally I couldn't care about Kinect.  I have the add on device for my 360 but from what I read it's going to be required.  The reason I haven't used it yet is because when I come home tired from working out at my dojo or gym, I'm too tired to be moving around for my gaming.  I praise the device for getting sedentary people to move around and burn some calories but I don't have that problem.     Gaming is my escape from the daily grind, its relaxing for me, even when I'm yelling at the bad guys on screen.  At least we see what the whole package is going to look like, Sony showed us a controller with a touch pad on it which is cool too.  I always liked the PlayStation controller layout especially for the PS2 which seems to be the model for them now.  I wonder if the actual console is bigger or smaller compared to the X...

         Before I begin, let it be known I have pre ordered many a game for DLC codes, T-shirts, and DVD's.   I still wear my ECW Hardcore Revolution T-shirt sometimes and my Resident Evil 2 shirt will make an appearance in my Muay Thai class from time to time so I have done it a lot in the past for some cool stuff.   If you notice, the titles I mentioned are from the PlayStation days (PS one!), and I got physical stuff just for putting money down on a game towards its total cost.   It's not extra money, it’s part of the initial cost.   I don't even know if game companies do that anymore, I know if you pay extra for special editions you get extra physical products but do they do anything to truly get a pre-order out of us?   The last time I got something cool for pre-ordering a game was for the PS2 version of The Thing , it came with a DVD of the film that I watch at least once a year to this date.   Ever since that, n...
