Cathal Pendred (17-4-1) announced his retirement today on social media. The Irish fighter has usually been on the same card as Conor McGregor and lost his last two fights in the UFC. At 28-years-old most fighters are in their physical prime, but Pendred cited lack of desire to compete as his reason for calling it a career. “I now find my passion is no longer what it was and I feel that it is time for me to move on. I have other interests that I want to pursue. The time is right to close one door and open another”-Cathal Pendred Pendred received a lot of negativity over his decision win against Sean Spencer back at UFC Fight Night 59 in Boston, when it seemed Spencer won the judges favored Pendred who was considered a local favorite.
