UFC 232: Picks

If you haven't heard, there's one more pay-per-view left in 2018 for the UFC. UFC 232 will be the final one of 2018 for the promotion and with the last minute location change, hopefully, no fights are lost. With that being said, check out the predictions from the latest, Coast-2-Coast Combat Hour where they made their picks before the holiday. Co-host Matt Hawkins will be at the event Saturday and Ed will be at the Professional Fighters League New Year's Eve championship Monday so this is a busy weekend for the team here. If you plan on catching UFC 232 and ordering it at home you can do so via our affiliate link on Amazon Prime by using the "buy now" tab below:

Coast-2-Coast Combat Hour: Jon Jones

It is the best mistaken identity story ever. Jon Jones has been taking a lot of heat meant for troubled former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones for some time now. Jones' experience in handling the mean tweets he gets by accident is probably the best story on how to handle mean, grumpy trolling online ever. Some people can get offended or even scared, but Jones handles it with comedy and through his experiences not only has the self-proclaimed geek found a sport he actually enjoys, but he is making a lot of new friends in the process too. Check out the full interview here:

Thin line between MMA and Pro Wrasslin

The line is thin between pro-wrestling and MMA. Many competitors in the sport have come from the world of pro wrestling, long before CM Punk started preparing for his UFC debut. Bobby Lashley, Ron Waterman, Brock Lesner and even Albert Del Rio have strapped on the four once gloves to fight as close to real fighting as they can get. Rarely does a move from pro wrestling cross over the way the wrestlers do, but when it does happen it's worth noting. Check out a "Rock Bottom" performed by Luis Alberto Nogueira on Yuki Baba at this past weekends Pancrase event: Pro wrestling, MMA, not matter what you call the move or where it happens, it hurts.  If you need more proof, check out the podcast interview with Pro Wrestler, Matt Macintosh and his response to Dana White's comments about pro-wrestling being fake.

Carbazel MMA Podcast for week of 9/7

This week's guest is someone who works with numbers and data for a living. Chris Rios sits down with Ed and gives his assessment  on how the numbers for the UFC/Reebok deal pan out in his eyes. Also included is a quick re-cap of MMA events that went down while we were on our break. You may or may not be surprised about what he thinks, have a listen.

Photos from 8/22 Pro Wrestling Syndicate event

Independent Pro Wrestling shows can be win or lose with the presentation and the venue they choose to put them in. If ECW has showed anyone anything, it is that if the talent is willing to put in the work, the show has the potential to be great. One member of the talent, "Bad Apple" Matt Macintosh, was  nice enough to spare a moment to promote the event and discuss the difference between Pro Wrestling and MMA. If you would like to hear that interview you can do so at The Carbazel MMA Podcast , and view photos from the event at this link . His match with Rey Mysterio was not only the match of the night, but the outcome was surprising and well deserved. Pro Wrestling Syndicate may be an independent promotion, but if anyone could repeat the success of ECW, this promotion seems to have the ingredients to do it.
