Maggie (2015): Review

Photo: Official site Maggie (2015), is a limited release horror film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, as a father that has taken to caring for his daughter after being infected by a zombie virus. The film begins just after things get under control after the outbreak happens, and scientists are attempting to find a cure. In a time when the market is flooded with the zombie genre because of The Walking Dead television series, this film takes a different approach at a soon to be played out genre. Photo: Official site. Schwarzenegger has really been flexing his acting muscles over his action muscles in the last few films he has done. When he came back to acting with The Last Stand he used the film to welcome himself back to movie going audiences while letting them know, he is aware he may be too old for action. Not that old, because he did Sabotage where he played a commander of an elite group of agents with a troubling secret he had to keep. It was still action, but he had t...

Sabotage (2014) Review

Photo from Official Web-site . Ever since Arnold Schwarzenegger retired from politics he has made a slow transition back to the action film genre . His first film back as an older action guy worked well for him, Sabotage does the same in putting him in a role that not only compliments his age but sells his character well. This is an action film with a little too much testosterone written into it but keeps you interested most of the time. Schwarzenegger plays Breacher, experienced leader of elite DEA crew. The film opens with a raid in which legendary DEA agent Breacher, played by Schwarzenegger leads his crew of elite agents in taking down a drug cartel.  While doing so, they decide to steal some of the drug dealers drug money and hide some at the site of the mission to claim later. However, when they return to get the hidden money it's gone.  That begins the films premise of mistrust and betrayal with them suspecting each other and trying to find out who is trying...

The Last Stand :Review (rent it with your Dad this weekend)

In most of my movie going adolescence most summer block busters were featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Predator , Commando , The Terminator and  the  Conan the Barbarian  films to name a few.  Then he got old, became a politician for a little while and I guess now that he's done with that he's coming back to film.  I welcome the come back especially after watching The Last Stand, released on home video.     I saw trailers for this in the winter and was thinking it would be hard to convince people to see this in the theater with me, so it seems the studios didn't want to make that gamble either this summer with all the huge films due out. Smart move, while Schwarzenegger does not disappoint playing an over the hill sheriff heading off bad guys that are cutting through his town to get to Mexico, the bad guy and his whole scenario are a little too unbelievable.  The scenario being some fancy pants Cartel guy got a hold of a ...
