Considering how the final season went and where it started, it seems easy to understand why the show got canned. They took a long way to go nowhere and for a show that had some of the best visuals on television, they really dropped the ball. There was rumors of the show moving to another channel or even getting the Netflix treatment, but after that finale. Do we really want one? The films and novels have such a following you have to be careful of what you change.  If it is too drastic, fans may give up on what is being produced. Hannibal looked like it was going to be a prequel when it first started. Filling in the blanks for everything that led up to the Red Dragon story, but somewhere the writers went off the rails.  It seemed they could bot decide on who they wanted to kill off or keep on the show. The most recent episode of Hannibal was pretty much the middle act of the Red Dragon film. It was familiar and fans of the Hannibal Lecter canon will most likely be familiar with most of it. Bringing the show to the small screen is never without its differences to remix something new to a story a lot of people know. While there were some moments between Graham and Bedelia, the Dolarhyde story was pretty much the same up until he goes to see the Blake painting.  In the film's he never runs into Graham there but they did that here. Even though the encounter was brief, it was a welcome change in episode that may have been a little too repetitive of an old story. If the people at NBC saw these and thought it might be too much more of a story that has been told, before they made their decision to end the last season, they should have been more patient.

Season 3 Hannibal is one of best looking shows on television. The visuals are so good, even if an episode is telling a story we already know, one can't help but watch. After last week began the Red Dragon story-line the show is based on the show seems to be running out of steam. If you have watched the original film and its remake as many times as we have, a lot of the lines were familiar. The show is done so well, it doesn't seem that anyone (except NBC) minds. This episode "And the Woman Clothed With the Sun", is the second act of the Red Dragon story-line. Other than the great visuals during crime reconstruction there did not seem to be too much difference from what happens in the film. Bringing in the Tooth Fairy from Red Dragon is kind of a hint the show is coming to a close. However, they already played the Mason Verger card, which takes place in the Hannibal film so could they be going for something new? Maybe, a new story to let us know where Hannib...

Fans of the show, fans of any show will be patient unless the show gets hard to catch over scheduling issues. That is besides the point, Hannibal is going somewhere and fans of show are sticking with him until the end. If you remember from the film of the same name, Hannibal (2001) , Verger was the antogonist that had a lot of money and a bone to pick with Dr. Lecter. This was touched upon during the last season and in the film, but no details were really given on what the beef between the two actually was. It looks like we get to see it now and that should make for good TV, NBC may have jumped the gun...

Photos from Official web site Television executives in their continued disconnect with the fans they lead away from their own shows has cancelled Hannibal .  The prequel series based on the works of Thomas Harris and the character of Hannibal Lecter that spawned several films will end this summer. Hannibal joins Constantine in the horror themed shows that get dropped, even though the fan-base is there and usually ratings are to blame for the cancellation. Here's a thought, if you change the night a show airs without really warning the fans, the ratings will drop. When Constantine was in trouble, it was watched over closely and held steady through its first season.  When it looked like it was safe, the network changed the night it aired.  Hannibal used to air on Friday nights, when it began to air its 3rd season, it just switched to Thursdays.   Where did all the bad come from?   I have been watching Hannibal , and Bates Motel to see how they would play out on TV and so far I am hooked.  We've seen the films that made these characters popular and now that they're all done what else is there to do?  Figure out how they got that way or at least to the point of where we met them, that's what.     My girlfriend and I are big fans of The Americans , a show about KGB spies and how they are hiding among us in the 80's when we were all afraid of a war with Russia. I grew up in the 80's and so did my good friend who said he doesn't care to watch the show.  I asked why he wouldn't since it was so good to me and he answered; "Because I already know what happens." I guess it's one thing in the real world to be bored with history you lived through, but why isn't that true for horror or fiction?  I totally want to know about anything that happens between Will Graham and Hannibal Lec...
