So long Mr. White, you owned Sunday nights      It's over, one of the best shows on television in a while has finally come to a close.  Many shows in television history run too long but this story of a nice guy gone bad had an ending when it started.  Last night's episode closed the book on a journey into one man's journey into the world of cartels, kingpins, assassins and betrayal. So goes the story of how Walter White broke bad... and a very Indiana Jones poster     The horror genre had an especially great time in the 70's and 80's with special effects and color booming across movie screens. And ,special effects amke up artist like Tom Savini were busy in almost everything that came out around that time.  One movie that in my opinion, was the inception for Inception was Dreamscape, starring Dennis Quaid, a very hot Kate Capshaw, Max Von Sydow, George Wendt (NORM!) and as the villain , "Waaariors, come out to playeeaay!" himself, Mr. David Patrick Kelly. This movie is about psychics that have the ability to enter people's dreams if they're in the same room or close proximity to them.  Dennis Quaid plays Alex Cardner, a once heavily studied great psychic anomaly at 19-years of age a prime subject of a scientific research project documenting his psychic ability, but in the midst of the study he disappeared and has since been using his talents solely for personal gain, ...

     Posted a while ago was a small rant on this site called Rated M for Mature about the ratings system for video games, and how people don't pay attention to them especially when shopping for spoiled little so and so at home.  With the release of one of the most recent version of the most popular and controversial games to hit consoles, Grand Theft Auto V last week people seem to still pay no heed. An open letter by an anonymous game store clerk posted on Kotaku recently expressed the same concern, and mainly blames parents.  To his credit he does a really good job of reading off what the rating represents, much like the former game clerk I spoke to in the piece mentioned above.  We have a lot of people out there forming organizations to inform the un-informed, on top of that it's good to know there are some clerks in the retail business like the one in the Kotaku article breaking it down on top of what's on the box.      The end is definitely nigh for Walter White, Jesse, and so it seems Mr. Goodman at the start of this episode. We finally get to see one of the guys Saul knows to make a person disappear and what that disappearance entails. We also get to see what Jesse's life as a prisoner is like with Jack, Todd and the rest of the Aryan Brotherhood. While Breaking Bad was making it's dominance know at the Emmy's , Walter White and Jesse Pinkman were being tested as they have never been tested before.  When this episode begins we see out favorite quick witted lawyer Saul Goodman being forced to use one of his infamous "guy, who knows a guy" for himself and he gets a ride in that burgundy van Jesse didn't take, and Walter White did when all came crumbling down.  The "guy" in this episode is a pretty well known actor who seems to always be cast as that kind of guy.  Robert Forster, best known to younger folks as the bail bondsman from Jackie Brown plays the...

    BBC America announced that they will not renew Copper for a third season this week and this Sundays finale will be the final episode.  According to the LA Times , "The series starring Tom Weston-Jones, was hailed as BBC America's highest-rated drama ever when it was renewed for a second season last fall. But whatever buzz the show had has been surpassed by BBC America's new science fiction thriller, "Orphan Black," which will return for its second season in April."  This Sunday's will be the last. The show takes place (or took place) during the end of the Civil War and after the New York City Draft riots in the same location that was featured in Gangs of New York , the Five Points.  So it was a heavy drama and had some interesting characters including a freed slave character Matthew Freeman that was played by Ato Essandoh who was one of my favorite characters on the show.  He was not playing the stereotypical slave turned former slave ...

  Brand new stories for brand new fans according to CNN's entertainment blog , and Kirkma will be at the helm. “The opportunity to make a show that isn't tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing.” he says in the article. No more Andrea, yay. That has been my beef with the show, I am a fan of the books and I admit I let the show changes bother me.  It's the same with anything that ahs a strong fanbase, when they change the medium it comes in and try to attract new fans, the loyal ones can sometimes be bothered by the small changes. This has been brought up here before in reference to books being made into movies , and it seem when the transition happens we should take it with a grain of salt. But, something new in the same world...how can we not wanna love it?

    Remember the one from the 90's, it had Stallone doing his best Demolition Man remix?  Well, don't let that one keep you from seeing this one.  It's up for streaming on +Netflix  in HD so you can see it safely now without regretting it if you wind up not liking it. ..that other one sucked, this one's pretty good. Karl Urban, plays the title character and he does a pretty good job, as long as an actor can play tough, speak a few words and have a square enough jaw I think anyone could have played this role.  The helmet never comes off, which is true to the comic it is based on so it was nice to keep that in the film.  This is an action film, so if you're watching it for any kind of acting you won't like this one.  It's pure blood and guts for most of the sequences and any action/ comic book fan should not be disappointed with this film.  The plot line felt a little familiar, almost similar to The Raid , criminal city, criminals i...

     Nice memory in the beginning of this one, Walt and Jesse's first cook, Walts first lie, in the same desert we were left in last week where the shootout between hank and Todd's uncle.  AMC showed last weeks episode just before this one popped off and if you didn't notice Marie was wearing all black in a show she consistently wears purple that may have been the firs indication of how Ozymandias was going to begin.      There's no long action sequence, we here the gunshots stop, Hank took one in his leg and Gomi has already fallen to the hail of gunfire. Walter White hasn't been the only character in this show that evolved into something he wasn't when it started.  Hank was a law enforcement stereotype, bad jokes, treated work like a game, even his own courage would come into question with himself when he experienced the level of violence the cartels dealt when he first transferred out of his own department.  Now, in the f...

     Talk about having the rug pulled out from under your feet, if you ever want to ensure your viewers will return for your show next week Vince Gilligan just gave you the formula.  End your show with a standoff, gunfight right when the shots go flying.  If you have not seen last nights episode, stop reading and watch it because you do not want this one spoiled.   Heisenberg move in this episode. A hit is out on Jesse, Jesse and Hank are out to get Walt and Creepy Todd is out to get Lidia in this episode.  This episode was a big chess game between Walt and Jesse in who's going to get who and  where.  The episode was one of them and their display of tactics as one man was trying to lure another.  Th"other way" Jesse referred to last week was to hurt Walter by attacking his money, Walter went after what Jesse holds dear, Brock and his mother.  He did not do it in an aggressive manner, he really didn't do anything...

     Next gen console rumors, news, wars and what have you mean nothing...if you only just got a current gen console last spring.  So while you choose to wait out the release dates, games lists, and over all winner of the next gen console dilemma you have plenty of current generation games you can play on the cheap (mostly) while you're biding your time.  If you just got a PS3, IGN just released their list of the top 25 games for that console here .  There's also a new blurb for the Xbox One here  from Engadget, and it's being able to support 8 controllers (cuz Xbox Live doesn't hold enough players?) Patient or anxious?      Breaking Bad keeps from being predictable once again when they bring us back to Walt rushing home to stop Jesse's rampage only to find he's just not there anymore.  This episode was very Tarantino-esque in that they explain what stopped Jesse's rampage later in the episode with a flashback to fill in the blanks.  The scene with Marie talking to her therapist was a little long but helps explain her non reaction to Hank having Jesse in his house to be his key evidence in bringing down the Heisenberg train.  This happens while Walt makes up some sorry story about a gas pump malfunction and relocating his family to a hotel to protect them from Jesse.  The funny thing about this episode is that Walter's untruths have become readable, even as the audience watches we can tell everyone he's talking to knows he's lying to them.  Pretty much any long winded crazy story Walter tells, while trying to do something around the house and seem innocen...

    Toys get more awesome as we get older, I for one have looked at many kids toys as an adult and said, "I wish they had that when I was kid".  Some things aren't as cool as when we were kids though, antique toy collectors would agree.  My girlfriend came across some pretty remarkable stuff from her childhood and as awesome as it is it's taking up space.  The attention to detail on American Girl Dolls is pretty awesome and provoked me to write this, while I was never into dolls ( I had action figures) I have to say the detail put into accessories so small are impressive. frames are real, with real lenses to better help her creepy eyes lunch bags and report cards Look at this detail, pretty awesome We all grow up and have to make space for our new toys, but that doesn't mean we cannot pass on the craftsmanship and awesomeness of these things to other kids.  You can pick up and view more images of some of these accessories here , but the...
