Karate Combat: Something Old with Something Cool

Karate Combat launched at the beginning of the year and usually when folks hear karate now, they kind of brush it off as old and outdated. However, when MMA legends like Bas Rutten and Chuck Liddell attach their names to the brand, folks get interested. As an 11 year student of Isshin-Ryu karate myself, I was already interested to see what they brought to the table in terms of bringing a fresh look to full-contact karate . Since February of 2018 they have held events in Budapest, Miami, Greece, and on top of One World Trade in New York City. I watched their pre-season event with some skepticism as it was a unique rule-set that works really well for pacing and action. Lethal Weapon Without Martin Riggs

Can the TV show based on the Lethal Weapon movie franchise exist without having the Martin Riggs character in it? Season 3 Promotional Image Mel Gibson played Martin Riggs for four films and it was hard enough accepting Clayne Crawford in the role but he owned it. However, the show seems to be taking a turn for an attempt at a reboot without Riggs since Crawford was removed from the show. Without spoiling anything, the way the second season ended certainly made for an easy exit within the story, but how do you reinvent the Roger Murtaugh relationship that has been a staple for years? LFA 49 and MMA Pro League Bringing the Ruckus to Atlantic City

LFA brought their fights to Atlantic City, New Jersey last weekend which made for a big MMA weekend in The Garden State with the MMA Pro League making their inaugural event debut. Vincent Villafane/Legacy Fighting Alliance AXS TV brought their Friday night fights that had a former WWE "Tough Enough" star fall to Jonavin Webb in the co-main event of LFA 49. Webb has a strong fan base in New Jersey and the east coast MMA scene so securing a win in Atlantic City is always memorable. LFA 49 Results: Main Event - Welterweight Fight - Sean Brady (9-0) defeated Gilbert Urbina (5-1) via unanimous decision (30-27. 30-27. 30-27). UFC 228: Weigh-in

The summer is unofficially over and UFC 228 is the first of the final events of the year for the UFC. There's a lot of concern over who makes weight and who will hold the titles afterward, the first one will be answered at the weigh-ins Friday and you can watch them here: As far as the winners and losers you will have to watch UFC 228 which is available on pay-per-view.
