As if Nick Newell never left MMA

Nick Newell took a break from MMA and returned as if it was only a break between camps at LFA 35. The 31- year old fighter who usually fights at lightweight stepped away from MMA in 2015 when he last fought at WSOF 24. His only loss was to Justin Gaethje who seems to have been watching Newell's return and heard his request to be in the UFC. I believe @NotoriousNewell deserves a shot. This sport hurts and it is unforgiving, much like some mma fans and critics. He will get hurt and lose like the the rest of us, it will not be because he is lacking in skill or suffering from a disability but because we are #Gladiators — Justin Gaethje 🇺🇸 (@Justin_Gaethje) March 14, 2018   When Newell stepped away he was on a two-fight win streak and with his win over Sunny Luque that makes three in a row. It's as if he never left the sport and with nine of his 14 wins by submission he certainly deserves some consideration to move into the UFC. See the results and Newell's finish...

Hard Work Pays Off for Michael Lombardo at the NJ Horror Con and Film Festival

Lombardo with the crew from I'm Dreaming of a White Doomsday The thing that makes the NJ Horror-con and Film Festival unique is its award show for up and coming artists looking to get their work some exposure. Especially when the co-founder of the convention's film recently got featured on Amazon just before this last convention, it has to drive filmmakers to succeed. Michael Lombardo's drive was on full display at the Film award ceremony Saturday night when his film, I'm Dreaming of a White Doomsday not only one best picture but also won for best special effects. UFC 222 Available on Amazon Prime Video

This weekend's UFC 222 event is available on Amazon Prime video to order for $64.99. It's the first UFC content ever offered on Amazon's streaming service and probably the first pay-per-view sporting event. Current options to watch the UFC's content are on their Fight Pass service and their Youtube channel for pay-per-views for the same price. Does being on Amazon make it appealing to you or does it make no difference at all? UFC 222 features the return of Cris "Cyborg" Justino vs. Yana Kunitskaya for the featherweight title and a co-main event featuring New Jersey's own Frankie Edgar against Brian Ortega who is currently undefeated. If you would like to order the event on Amazon and give it a try, you can do so below by clicking the event image. A full breakdown of the main card can be viewed over at Frontproof Media
