I, Frankenstein (2014) Review

Photo from LionsGate
Ever see a film and think, "they must've had money to burn". Things that make you think this might be rushed story lines, cliche lines and characters, and straight nonsense. This film has all of those things and begs a third question, Why would Aaron Eckhart do this film?

This film had ridiculously labeled good guys and bad guys which consisted of gargoyles and demons. It really had nothing to do with Frankenstein that mattered.  It could have been any character to fill in the blank but someone decided on Frankenstein's monster played by Eckhart. They sum up his backstory within the first five minutes of the film.

The true story is the war between the gargoyles meant to protect humans and demons, who are just always bad. To give you an idea of the deep thinking involved in making this film, there is a Demon Prince and a Gargoyle Queen. This film should have been a Sci Fi channel release and Eckhart needs to pick better roles if he wants to be taken seriously. He did such a good job playing Two Face in The Dark Knight he really can do better than this film. It's safe to pass on this one...but if you need to it's on +Netflix .
