Rest in Peace Asbury Park Zombie Walk

The Asbury Park Zombie Walk has broken records and become a recent NJ tradition in recent years. With shows like The Walking Dead making the zombie genre more popular, its infection every October grew larger and larger. All good things must come to an end, and New Jersey's greatest zombie event has finally met its demise.

It's no secret here that horror and Halloween have a home here on +The Blogboard Jungle , so when things like this happen it makes us sad. Jason Meehan, the founder of the walk left the following message on Facebook to explain why it has died:

My Dear Zombies,I am aghast as I sit here, trying to find the most gentle way to write these words to you... but there...

It's not like it was the only one in existence, but it was one of the biggest ones in New Jersey. October is a pretty good time in the Garden State and there are plenty of horror themes conventions and 5K runs going on. However, nothing will ever match the scale of the Asbury Park Zombie walk.
