The Conjuring 2 - Main Trailer [HD]

Photo: Warner Bros The long awaited sequel to The Conjuring (2013) will be released this summer. If you have not watched the first film it is worth noting that it is based on the case files of Ed and Lorraine Warren. That is the tag line for both films and it should also be noted the Annabelle (2014) story and film was taken from their files as well. There actually has already been a few films made based on the case of The Enfield Poltergeist, which is what the basis of The Conjuring 2 will be. Movie fans love films based on a true story and if this film does as well as the first one we can expect a nice little collection of films "based on the case files of the Warrens." You can read our review of the first film here and check out the trailer for the new one below: The Conjuring 2 has not yet been rated according to the official website . The 2015 film is actually a mini-series titled The Enfield Haunting and spans three episodes, it was recently aired...

Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) review

(Warner Bros. Pictures) Two of the most iconic superheroes in the DC universe, for the first time in cinematic history, go up against each other in this highly anticipated film. Words cannot describe how many fans (including me) were waiting for this to happen and amaze eyes across the globe. Now, it's out in theaters. You know how sometimes you see a great item online, then you actually visit it in person and it's sort of disappointing? Well, that's Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice for you. The title of this movie explains it all. The one and only Batman (Ben Affleck), is suspicious of the one and only Superman (Henry Cavill). After the destruction from Man of Steel (2013) , Bruce Wayne doesn't trust Superman, and wants to take him down. Superman, on the other hand, just wants to be viewed as a good person, instead of a worldwide threat.  However, when the villainous Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) comes into play, Batman and Superman realize...

10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) review

(Parrmount Pictures) Some monsters are big, scary, and inhuman. However, there are some monsters that look the same as you and me. 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) is a thriller directed by Dan Trachtenberg and produced by J.J Abrams. It stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman, and John Gallaghner. The movie starts out as a young woman named Michelle (Winstead), who is running away from her  fiancé after an argument. Driving away, distracted by a phone call by the guy who she is leaving, she gets into a car accident that knocks her out cold. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a bunker that creeps her out. Not knowing whether there's an actual danger inside, or outside, she does everything she can to find answers. First of all, this movie doesn't waste time to get into the story. It doesn't worry about other characters, or other little details, because it dives right into the main plot. Second of all, the three actors all did incredible jobs, especially Joh...

The creative side of "USS" Steve Cunningham

Algieri vs. Spence media day. Photo: Ed Carbajal Two-time IBF cruiser-weight champion and heavyweight contender Steve Cunningham (36-7-1NC) was in New York to help promote the April 16 Algieri vs. Spence card that will be broadcast on NBC from The Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York. He commented on his upcoming bout with Krystof Glowacki (25-16), as well as his other ventures within the sport of boxing and outside of the ring. He already does ringside commentary for PBC at boxing events he is not on the card for, but he let reporters know he has other plans after boxing. Citing the undeniable hands of time that ages us all and the rigorous training and damage boxers take, he knows a "Plan-B" is essential. He's already working on it in the form of a comic book. If you look at how popular the genre is, and the ease of self publishing, with the right backing a lot of creative ventures can be more successful these days. He already has a lot of stories in mind ...

Aftermath UFC 196

The following polls were taken on both Twitter and Google Plus prior to UFC 196. It seems to show how different the social media environments are for various outlets. One was not done on Facebook but some poll probably had him winning there too. It is interesting to see how many people were for Conor McGregor on Twitter, but the margin of difference was not that big on Google Plus. Both had him winning but Nate Diaz managed to prove everyone wrong. Since we're getting the gold belt from @ufc Who ya got? #UFC196 — Carbazel MMA (@Carbazel) March 2, 2016 Regardless of the vote and where you voted, both polls had McGregor winning. Obviously he did not as we all know now but what does this say about the power of "the push" Nate Diaz was referring to in the UFC 196 post fight presser? Do you think Diaz gets that push now after his UFC 196 win? Photo: Jeff Sherwood/ Sherdog.com

Better Call Saul :Season two so far

Our favorite lawyer has returned and things are at a crossroads at this point in the life of James McGill. Since this all takes place before he transforms into the very well connected "Saul Goodman", he is at a point where he could be an average guy, or an average lawyer. However, like Walter White outside influences will seem to eventually stir him on the path of the "morally flexible" as his soon to be associate Mike puts it. This season starts off like the last, in black and white, with a displaced Saul Goodman managing a Cinnabon. Not what he was used to, but surviving even when he gets locked out of the mall. It would seem each season is a time for reflection on how he wound up where he is. In his pre- Breaking Bad memories, he got out from under his brother's shadow (mostly) and is working for a new law firm that seems to want to good for the elderly at Sandpiper, the retirement community chain McGill/Goodman fell upon while trying to make his wa...

Dope (2015) Review

Dope (2015) available for purchase on Amazon Not many films are too deep these days. Dope (2015) does a good job of bringing up some pretty deep messages about how younger folks should contemplate about their futures and follow their passions without having to fit into what society says is cool. It also has one of best soundtracks a film could have, especially if you were into hip-hop in the 80s and 90s. The film follows Malcolm, a high school senior that has a lot of love for the hip-hop culture of the 90s played and superbly by Shameik Moore. Malcolm has a punk band and a lot of ideas about doing big things for the future, even though he has a deep love for the past. It is only in the culture of the past though as you will see he is well read on bitcoin, business, and online entrepreneurship when properly motivated. Without spoiling anything for you, Malcolm and his friends get into some trouble and find clever ways out. Keep in mind he still gets distracted by the regular ...
