Black Mirror Season Three Review

Black Mirror season three was released last week on  +Netflix US & Canada  and is a modern day Twilight Zone for today's technology reliant audience. Topics like social media and the need for acceptance it creates, perception of others based on environment and outside influences and some really creepy VR gaming that makes you want to stick to whatever current gen console you have now. The underlying commentary about today's society and ever changing beliefs still exists in every episode. Whether you agree with them or not is up to you but stories like these are made to make people think and reflect on what is being shown to you and where we could possibly be heading with technology and culture. Check out Black Mirror if you haven't yet.

The Walking Dead Season 7 Off to a Good Start

The Walking Dead has not been written about much here. Partly because of a slight case of "nerd rage" in regards to how some characters translated from print to the small screen. There have been some really awesome characters in the books that were ruined on the TV show. Characters like Carl, Andrea, and Tyreese were so well written that when something happened to them in the books, you were concerned the way TV fans get now over what happened in the season seven opener. However, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing Negan it looks like season seven will finally be the one that brings back those that only watched the last 20 minutes of an episode because that's when something significant would happen. We tried to start a poll on how they would play Negan's true introduction and thankfully only two people voted, probably because they did not drag out what Negan did that everyone was waiting six months for. Do you think #TheWalkingDeadSeason7Premiere will show wh...

First Look at Nintendo Switch

Did Nintendo just up and change the game on everyone? In every sense of the word "game"? It seems like it, looks like the days of flailing about in your living room were short lived and they're dropping the Wii concept. People want to get out and interact and sometimes they don't. The Nintendo Switch looks like its made to compliment everybody. Check it out in the video: The question with Nintendo is, will they bring the titles in more people want. Not every gamer likes all things Mario and cute. The first person shooters, horror games and the like have not always been popular for Nintendo with the exception when they brought Resident Evil on the Gamecube. What do you think of the Nintendo Switch and what titles would you like to see on it? Please comment below.

Channel Zero: Candle Cove (Review)

Channel Zero is the Syfy channel's version of American Horror Story . It is a horror anthology series and you know we like those here . Each season is set to be six episodes and a new story, this one is based on what can only be described as a ghost kids show called "Candle Cove" and some unsolved murders that happened around the time of its airing in 1988. Mike Painter is a child psychologist that returns to his home town of Iron Hill because he wants to investigate the murder of his brother, who was one of the victims of the unsolved murders from 80's. At least that's what we're led to believe, there's a lot Painter doesn't share but will need to soon as the show moves on. The kids show, "Candle Cove" that this season is titled for doesn't seem like something kids would want to watch. In the first episode there is a dinner conversation where Mike and his friends wife Jessica, remark on how the show gave her nightmares. S...

The Exorcist on Fox So Far..(Review)

How are you liking The Exorcist on Fox so far? If you have not checked it out yet, you should. The show is well written and has a good creep factor with some jump scares. These horror shows out this Fall seem to grow more in numbers every season, but can be a hard sell if you're not big on horror. Unless it has zombies which everyone seems to jump on now. This show however is bringing back the old demonic possession gimmick and the talent in this show is bringing out their best performances. Geena Davis plays Angela Rance, the mother of two daughters seemingly stalked by a demon that looks like and old man. More like a principal at the end of a long day but that is what makes him all the more scarier. The daughters, Casey and Katherine Rance are played by Hannah Kusulka and Brianne Howey are both in their teens and seem like they come from a decent family that has suffered some setbacks. For one, their father seems to slowly be deteriorating mentally. On op of that, the girl...

New Marvel's Iron Fist Trailer from NYCC

Are Comic-cons even about comic anymore? Lately they are great ways to announce bringing characters off the pages of books onto the screen. No one really minds if the final product is done well and Netflix has been handling its Marvel related characters very well. Last weekend's New York Comic-Con showed fans yet another Iron Fist trailer and it looks like they are no pulling any punches on this one's production value. Check it out:

Luke Cage (2016) on Netflix Review

Before I start I have to let you know I'm a serious Luke Cage and Iron Fist fan. Especially during Brubaker/Fraction run on Iron Fist with the "immortal weapon" story line that had them being friends like in a buddy cop movie. I still have two episodes left as I write this but I have to say as much as I want to get through this one, it's kind of hard. I want to succeed because it is part of the  +Netflix US & Canada  Marvel Universe that is connected to the cinematic one as well. It is part of Daredevil , Jessica Jones , and the two shows coming that include The Punisher and Iron Fist . So, if you are a fan of the heavy action you saw in Daredevil do not expect much of that in Luke Cage. However, I think there is a reason for that and it has to do with what we compare in these shows. Before we get into that, lets list what was good: The soundtrack The Easter eggs Most of the characters Some episodes feature titles of songs from classic hip-hop like D...
