Daniel Cormier Responds to Jones UFC 214 USADA Violation

Photo: Ed Carbajal Daniel Cormier responded on social media to the news of Jon Jones USADA violation from their bout at UFC 214. Cormier suffered a knock out loss to Jones at the event and it is his second loss to the troubled light-heavyweight champion who could be stripped of the title. However, the news is still fresh and a process has to happen before Jones suffers any repercussions. DC A post shared by Daniel "DC" Cormier (@dc_mma) on Aug 23, 2017 at 12:33pm PDT Cormier thanked fans for support and prefers to see what comes of this recent news. Mayweather vs McGregor: Final Press Conference

It's finally here. This weekend will have the most hyped boxing match in the sports recent history. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (49-0 Boxing) and Conor McGregor (0-0 Boxing, 21-3 MMA) will face off in what has been the strangest of matchings in combat-sports. There is no varied rule set that would in any way point to Mayweather not doing well, yet this is being marketed as a fighter versus fighter match. Some see it as MMA vs. Boxing but it is far from that when it is only boxing rules. Needless to say, one final press conference is under way today. Because those last four weren't enough, right?

In Defense Review of The Dark Tower (2017)

The Dark Tower (2017)  got hated on by many critics and some fans. However, the eight-book series would much like any stories that make the move from one medium to another has to change some things for the sake of time and money. As much as a fandom can bring love for something as great as the works of Stephen King, the changes have to be considered. What the film does well for fans of King's works is drop the subtle little Easter egg references to other stories and hint for new audiences how all those stories are connected in the same universe. Examples like The Man in Black referring to Jake's psychic abilities as "Shine" (The Shining), also when using a way station one of the coordinates is to a room numbered 1408. If anyone remembers, 1408(2007) was a haunted room in a hotel where strange things happened. Makes you wonder if all those things were passing through. Finally, the Pennywise references seen in the trailer. Pennywise reference from trailer When...

The Defenders|Netflix Quick Review

ABC Studios/Marvel television Finally, fans get the Marvel  +Netflix  mash-up they have been waiting for. The Defenders premiered this weekend on the streaming service and bringing together all these New York based characters for a season of super-hero action is something that is sure to inspire cosplayers for all the upcoming conventions this fall . The eight-episode series unites the crew to face what has been building behind the scenes in each characters respective series. It may seem a little short, but this should be a good enough binge to hold us off while we wait for the solo follow-up seasons to kick off. The action is good, the story suffers a little while trying to address smaller subplots for other shows. Iron Fist is a big part of what moves the story, as is the involvement of The Hand and the mythos of Kun-lun. But it isn't a big deal if you weren't a fan of that show, they do a good enough job explaining things in this series. Again, the stories conn...

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be facing Conor McGregor what has been dubbed "The Money Fight". However, this isn't anything new. Mayweather vs McGregor: Conor McGregor Media Conference Call

Floyd Mayweather says he owes the fans

Floyd Mayweather was on Kimmy Kimmel's show to promote his upcoming bout against Conor McGregor on August 26. The boxing match is being called "The Money Fight" since it has the undefeated boxing champion coming out of retirement to face the current lightweight champion of the UFC. While hardcore boxing and mixed martial arts fans see it as a circus, Mayweather believes otherwise. Mayweather's last fight was against Andre Berto in September of 2015. Before that, he faced Manny Pacquiao in what is considered one of the biggest pay-per views in recent boxing history. However, his last two bouts were perceived by many as anticlimactic for the final bouts of his career. "I feel I owe it the fans. Pacquiao and I didn't give them a blockbuster, me and McGregor should give them a blockbuster." -Floyd Mayweather See the segment here:

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance | Teaser Trailer for Netflix

Who remembers The Dark Crystal (1982) ? If you do, you grew up in a really good time to be a kid. Well,  +Netflix  seems to know their demographics well with shows like Stranger Things , and Voltron getting multiple seasons they are looking to cash in on the nostalgia with The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.  Anyone miss the days of puppet work and animatronics in films? There was a time when it was considered cutting edge and films like John Carpenter's: The Thing (1982) won academy awards for those types of effects. The same year, a pretty awesome film from the mind of the late Jim Henson created The Dark Crystal.  A sci-fi fantasy film that was a great escape for kids in the 80s and had its share of merchandising. This classic does not come up in conversation enough but if you mention, it is one fan's remember. Check out the trailer below that features Henson talking about his excitement for the film and the concept art of the villainous speci...

Henderson vs. Sakuraba in October

Photo: Rizin FF As if October wasn't awesome enough, Rizin Fighting Federation (Rizin FF) has announced not only are they going to have their first ever Women's Super Atom-weight Grand Prix, but they will also add a grappling match of two Pride Fighting Championship (Pride FC) legends Kazushi Sakuraba and Dan Henderson. For the old school fans of the sport, this match is a special treat for people that miss the rival Japanese promotion. It should be noted that Rizin FF is run by Nobuyuki Sakakibara, the former president of Pride FC. Henderson retired from MMA in October of 2016 but has not really been completely inactive. He competed against Jon Jones at Submission Underground in December of 2016, three months after he announced his retirement. He lost via submission but obviously, he and Sakuraba does not sit well with retirement. This would not be the first time Sakuraba has entered a grappling match against a former Pride FC legend either. In 2014, he and Renzo Gra...

Death Wish Remake out in November| Official Trailer

Poster for 1974 film Charles Bronson is irreplaceable. Let's get that out of the way now, but when you no longer have Mr. Bronson and you want to reboot one of the best vigilante film franchises of the 70s and 80s (and a little bit of the 90s) Bruce Willis is a good call for Death Wish (2017). They re-made #DeathWish & it stars Bruce Willis. Sold! pic.twitter.com/v1pzz5P0Vc — Carbazel MMA (@Carbazel) August 3, 2017 Not much is known about this remake other than the premise is the same. Crime out of control, a man's family is assaulted and it seems law enforcement's justice is not being dispensed the way it should in the eyes of the victim. Eli Roth directs this film and the original is credited as the basis of it so it should have an absolute 'R' rating and the action sequences may be on par with the original. That being said, some changes in this new version are noticed in the trailer, one being Paul Kersey's profession. He wears a Doctor...
