Review: The Killing Joke Movie

One of the best graphic novels of any Bat-man fan has been made into a highly anticipated animated film. Fans of the book were even more excited to hear it was given an 'R' rating. All the ingredients are there for this long awaited adaptation to be epic. Add the voice over work of Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker and you've got yourself another classic, right? Wrong. The Killing Joke not only fails to honor one of Alan Moore's best works but goes completely off the rails from the opening scene. To give the story some credit, when Barbara Gordon is home when The Joker pays her a visit is never really explained in the book. This film spends a lot of time explaining what would lead to her being home having cocoa with Jim Gordon.   That is probably the closest thing you will get of a spoiler for the film in this review. That's not really spoiling anything, especially if you read the book. By the time The Joker makes his debut, you have al...

Stranger Things (2016) Review

The Duffer brothers must have been fans of E.T, The Thing, Goonies, and Strange Invaders because this series is a mix of all those great films, and a decent throw back to those sci fi/horror classics of the 80's. If you have watched those films more than once, you'll catch the subtle Easter eggs that give a nod to the films that inspired this series. It stars Winona Ryder and Matthew Modine. The soundtrack features some great tracks from the 80's along with score that would John Carpenter smile. The story takes place in 1983, a mid-western town where a boy goes missing and his friends know something is wrong, and decide to search on their own. The town is near a government energy facility where experiments and tests are conducted on the level confidentiality that would interest Agent Mulder of the X-Files. Stranger Things is definitely meant for the 'X' generation crowd but serves as a good segway to revisit the films it attempts to imitate. Check out t...

Cassie's Top 5 Fighting Video Games

I would like to thank The Blogboard Jungle for publishing this article on their site. I've found them to be a great resource for everything in the world of entertainment and I would specifically recommend their review of Injustice: Gods Among Us for anyone interested in that title. Fighting games have always been hit or miss for me. I can be quite picky and I actually dislike most of them (with good reason). However, I have successfully completed this difficult task. Some might disagree with this list simply because many classics will be left out, but I feel as though there are a number of hidden gems that deserve your attention. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Yes, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is my favorite Tekken game of all time. This might sound strange to some, but I absolutely love the gameplay mechanic of being able to use two fighters. In this installment of the Tekken franchise, you can choose two fighters to fight with and switch between them anytime...
