This self defense video has to be addressed (updated)

*Update: The folks over at The Middle Easy reached out to Rubin about the video and techniques in question here. Since, others in the martial arts community have also addressed the techniques and videos on social media. While she does give sound advice and creates awareness, the presentation of these techniques can do more harm than good. Check out the Middle Easy's article on when they reached out to Rubin, they did a really good job. The link is below. Someone Wants to See You at the NJ Horror Con and Film Festival in March

You would be hard presses to go to comic book expo like the New Jersey Comic Expo and not see the likes of Rob Bruce there. If you are not aware, he is the man behind the best horror convention in New Jersey so he wanted to pass on a message for horror fans in the area. First, the NJ Horror Con will be in March. Second, he wants to see you there!

Creator Spotlight: Isaiah Puga "Jagged"

One of the great things about the New Jersey Comic Expo is that it is a great place to find up and coming talent in the medium of comics. Not only are there panels that help those trying to fine-tune the craft of storytelling, drawing, lettering and other details on how comics are made, but the undiscovered grinders in the world where folks can self-publish and build their brand are always present. Enter Isaiah Puga who was selling his four-part series Jagged that looks like a story he has built up from genres that news headlines in small-town papers helped him write. Corrupt school officials, affluent teen athletes that enter the realm of psychotic, and underdog heroes that get pulled into situations by circumstance are the building blocks of Puga's story. There is more than one bad person in the story, but when Puga was speaking with us the main villain of the story is a serial killer. Like many true crime stories, it is never the one you expect and Jagged will take reader...

The Panels Are Coming to The New Jersey Comic Expo

Of all the things that go on during the New Jersey Comic Expo, one of the best reasons to go are the panels. Creatives in the area should look at the schedule and plan to sit in on some of these inspiring and instructive panels featured at this year's Expo November 18 and 19. DYNAMITE comics is holding their second panel this year on making comics to kick off the weekend. The last one they held had Garth Ennis as a special guest who spoke with readers about his creative process and things he is working on with DYNAMITE. Cosplayers are always welcome and have had some of the best and most popular panels in the past so it should be no surprise that the weekend's programming includes Armor Making and professional cosplayer's answering questions about the craft and culture of cosplay for comic-cons. See the weekend program below: See anything you would like to attend?  Sound off in the comments below and be sure to check out the New Jersey Comic Expo's of...
