De La Hoya interested in Rousey boxing if she is

The world of MMA and boxing are often regulated, run, and promoted in similar fashions. Page 2 Sports boxing analyst Daniel Zaldivar got to talk to "The Golden Boy" himself and asked his opinion on Ronda Rousey's recent appearance on The Ring magazine and the potential of her entering the boxing world. Constantine will be on Arrow

The CW has officially become King of the Crossovers. First they did the Arrow/Flash crossover last season , now they're taking a show, that everyone but NBC liked and bringing that character where he should have been all along. John Constantine will be on Arrow next week. If you have not been watching this season, it looks like Constantine will be coming to help Arrow and his crew get the evil out of Laurel's sister after she dipped her in a Lazarus pit. She was told it would be bad news if she did, but she did it anyway. Sara is back and crazy because of it and the blood lust seems too much for regular folks to handle. If you anything about Constantine, he's not regular folks. How much to you want to bet, this is the thing that brings back Constantine? #ConstantineOnArrow !!!! pic.twitter.com/ldSUdlJStB — The Blogboard Jungle (@B_Boardjungle) October 29, 2015

Better Late than Never Review: The Conjuring (2013)

"Based on the case files of the Warrens." The Conjuring (2013) was a summer horror film about one of the many cases Ed and Lorraine Warren had investigated. If you're not familiar with their name, you're definitely familiar with their cases, the Amityville Horror being their most famous one. Truth being scarier than fiction has been written about here before , but if it weren't for the truths, the works of fiction would not exist. The film is about as scary as any film nowadays from James Wan, goofy faced demonic ghouls bothering a family. It's the bare bones of any horror film but rarely does it intrigue more similar films that are worth watching. This one does something different though, and it is the basis of what could be a nice series of films. Focusing on the ghost fighting of the Warrens is a really nice touch and kept me interested throughout the film. The Warrens have tussled with the Amityville house, Anabelle , and many others that they...

Halloween costume ideas from Google Frightgeist

Sometimes you can have too many costume ideas, or not any at all. Maybe, you don' want to go to a costume party wearing what everyone else is wearing. Google takes a lot of the legwork out for you this Halloween with Google Frightgeist, pulling the most popular ideas from their most popular costume searches. Apparently Harley Quinn and Star Wars are trending nationally, for some odd reason, New Jersey won't pop up in the map. If you need costume intel, it's a good place to look. You can view the full site here . I'll keep it simple with my make-up techniques I picked up at Bizarre AC and re-do my bullet to the head. Bullet to the head make-up from Bizarre AC There's even an option that says "surprise me" to help you pick something that no one is probably going to pick. You can get full stats on the costume and see how much its trending, big help if you don't like trying to explain your costume. Google Frightgeist |Google Shop Amazon - ...

Before the weigh-ins for UFC Fight Night 76 in Dublin, Rory MacDonald, Max Holloway and Andrei Arlovski sit  down for a quick Q&A session. Check it out here:

Back to the Future Day 10/21/2015

Back to the Future Blu-ray Before even noticing it was going to be a thing, I recently had the chance to sit through all three Back to the Future films. I had the chance to watch it with my girlfriend, who had never seen them before (GREAT SCOTT!). It was a bit of shocker because she is a big fan of sci-fi and especially time travel stories. We ran into it on TV a few weeks ago and she loved the first film, when she saw the commercial for the marathon, I knew we were in for the night. It was really fun to sit through it again with her, not only because I liked seeing her happy, but it reminded me of when I was enjoying the first film at young age and how epic the trilogy was. What is even more epic is the fact that a lot of the technology in the film is around today. By the time you read this you probably have read about hover boards and video conferencing, so I won't bore you with that again. But, it is pretty cool that the film mostly predicted a lot of technology that ...

Good times at Horror-con Bizarre AC III

If you ever need something to renew or reboot your interest in something, go to a convention themed for that something. Conventions serve as a great way for like minded creative people to come together and share their love for the genre they create for. Bizarre AC III brought actors, authors, special effects people and a lot more to Atlantic City, New Jersey this past weekend for a fun and frightful experience. Yours truly, Father Evil , and my brother. The 28 days infected experience was definitely the way to get the blood going, in a really immersive experience. This was not your average haunted house deal, you pretty much get thrown into the most frantic point of a horror film, this was set up in the parking garage of the hotel hosting the event. You did not feel like you were in the hotel as soon as you walk in.  You're greeted by a swat team officer trying to help you get out, he doesn't last long so you are left on your own. After that you have to navigate through...

What are you playing for Halloween?

Horror movies, video games, whatever you do for yourself for Halloween, its probably a small personal tradition. Outside of doing things with friends and families like horror conventions, zombie walks, and haunted attractions what will you do to get in the spirit of Halloween? Playing a video game is right in line with watching your favorite horror film, the one we are jumping back in this month is The Evil Within . With the upgrades and things we missed when the game first came out, this is going to be our go to horror game for Halloween this year. It doesn't have to be anything new, most movie marathons aren't anything new so why should games be different? What are some other horror themed games you would play? Here is a list of some we like here: Resident Evil:2 Resident Evil: Code Veronica Silent Hill series Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem Dead Space 1&2  What did we leave out? Please comment below...

Fargo: season 2 recap/review

Season 1 box art Season two of Fargo premiered on FX, last season was done just as well as the film and connected to it nicely just when people were wondering how the show was made from the film. If you didn't get a chance to see either, you can click the above image for the show or catch-up on your preferred streaming service. This season takes place in 1979 and looks at the earlier generation of law enforcement in the Solverson family. If you remember Molly Solverson from season 1 you'll be familiar with the name. That's what makes these stories in the Fargo universe unique. The first season was lightly connected to the film by connecting the money Steve Buscemi's character from the film left in the snow, to a family in the series. This season is doing it with a family name to introduce a whole new list of characters for season two. The first half hour has enough surprises in it to draw you in for this season, if you're not watching it, you should. Its ...

Three days left to sign Nick Diaz petition

This was originally written for the site I work for Page2Sports.com but I think it bears repeating on here for the fight fans that visit this site. Please read: There are only two days left to get the currently remaining 18,316 signatures needed on Diaz’s Whitehouse.gov petition. Whether or not that is proper way to help Diaz is not the point, the point is to bring attention to the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) and the unfair, biased treatment of one of the best competitors in MMA. Nick Diaz has been suspended for five years for testing positive for marijuana from his bout with Anderson Silva at UFC  183. The fighter has done this before but since his last few tests, laws have changed and there is an allowed limit for the metabolites that come up in a test. When the sentence was handed out, on “UFC Tonight” Michael Bisping pointed out that two WADA accredited labs had showed Diaz tested under the limit. However, the Commission, looking to make an example out ...

Narcos: Review

Narcos , a  +Netflix  original series that may have came out of nowhere is the result of a lot of people probably watching the Cocaine Cowboys documentaries on the streaming service. The story and names are familiar to anyone who grew up in the 80's and 90's during the war on drugs. Narcos follows what Billy Corbin's documentaries briefly touches on, the story of the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar. Brilliantly told in a bilingual story-line that will have non-spanish speakers learning new words in another language after they get hooked on this nostalgic story. Yes, you could just look up Escobar on line and know how this ends, but you will not see it unfold on screen the way Netflix pulled this one off. This short series will have you longing for the 80's once you watch the first few episodes. None of the actors in the series are very well known but after the performances in this, they most likely will be working a lot between now and season two. Yes, there wi...

Sherlock hitting rewind

The completely awesome Sherlock Holmes television series on BBC is doing a special and they're having it set in the 19th century where the original stories originated. If you're a fan of Sherlock on BBC you'll know the current series run in part by Doctor Who show runner Steven Moffat sets the stories of Mr. Holmes and Dr. Watson in modern times. Having this done with the show not only should make fans curious, but ready to tune in as soon as it airs. Who loves them some Sherlock? Check out the video below:

Things not to do at UFC 192

No matter where a fighter is on the card, there are certain things a fighter should not do when they make it to the UFC. Francisco Trevino now 12-2 fought newcomer, Sage Northcutt (6-0) and did all things a fighter should not do at UFC 192. First, he came in overweight at weigh-in, he was four pounds over and still fought. As it happens, four pounds is better than the 26 pounds Johny Hendricks was several days before the fight.  A bad attempt to cut his weight led to him being hospitalized and his bout with Tyron Woodley getting scratched. But if a fighter still fights, over weight and loses another thing not to do when contesting the stoppage by a very good referee, is push the referee. Herb Dean probably has the lowest rate of error as a ref, most likely due to the fact he has fought himself so he is aware of what it is like being a fighter and is aware of the risks they take. Trevino pushed dean when he wanted to contest the stoppage, stomping your feet and asking ...

The Strain season two finale review 'Night Train'

Of all the characters they could have gotten rid of the one that was lost in this episode was probably the most innocent and decent. The Ocido Lumin has been acquired but not without taking a serious hit to the characters we got used to this season. Eldridge Pamler had to get put in his place and was made to realize, he's not as smart as he thought. Coco was made a meal of for The Master when Palmer thought the could flex some financial muscle, he thought he could let The Master know who is in charge by cutting off his funding.  He found out otherwise when confronted by Eichorst and The Master himself. Gus, Angel, and Quinlan have banded together to get the Lumin and the head of The Master by recruiting every thug Gus knew to their cause. A small army will lead into the war in season three when the final fight for humanity is fought. There will be one soldier missing though... Nora was by Eph's side since the beginning and was prepared to die to protect Zach, which she...

Just a short quick re-cap of all the MMA events that went down since the last podcast to get back on track. UFC Fight Night in Japan, UFC 192, and Bellator 143 as well as their DYNAMITE event. If you need something to listen to on you way to work, look no further:

Zombie Walk back from the dead in NJ

New Jersey's famed Asbury Park Zombie walk was thought dead at the Jersey Shore. Horror fans know zombies are hard to kill, and so is the Zombie Walk. There is a new King of the Zombies in New Jersey and his name is Johnny McGillion, owner of "Johnny Mac's Bar". According the Asbury Park Sun  , McGillion purchased the rights to the event from the previous organizer who made the announcement about the walk's demise .  There were talks of having it moved to other towns in the Garden State but McGillion wouldn't have it. “A lot of communities would want the Zombie Walk in their town but we are looking to prevent that,” the Asbury Park Johnny Mac’s bar owner said. “We’re looking forward to taking it over and getting involved. It’s a tremendous asset to the City of Asbury Park.” This is good news for NJ horror fans. Most likely there will be a big turnout of about 5000 people and plenty of professional level make-up effects. It really has become an NJ tradi...

Nick Diaz unfairly punished by NSAC

Nick Diaz has been punished severely by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) and it seems pretty obvious they went to the most severe punishment because they simply do not like him. The attitude or perceived attitude by fans of the sport seems to have carried over into the hearing he had, and when invoking the Fifth Amendment it made them angrier. Facts were ignored and MMA fighters and fans are angry at the suspension handed down to one of the fiercest competitors in the sport. What message is the NSAC sending? First, they show obvious favoritism to fighters that bend with the wind they blow at them. Jon Jones tested positive for cocaine yet that is not listed as a banned substance, Diaz’s last opponent Anderson Silva tested positive for steroids and was only given a year suspension with time already allotted from when the test results were produced. Diaz was given the maximum punishment and a hefty fine for something that is legal for him to use in his home state of...
