Bellator 154 light heavyweight contender bout announced

During Bellator 149 it was announced that Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal (19-4-1) and Phil Davis (15-3-1)will face each other to see who gets a shot at Light-heavyweight Champion Liam Mcgeary. Davis won the the tournament at the Dynamite event last year and it was for the winner to face McGeary. However, Lawal was injured after his win in the first round of the tournament and could not continue.

Lawal came back to win the inaugural Rizin event on New Years Eve and won the tournament portion of that show. Both men, meant to face each other out of a tournament format now get to face each other for a shot at the title. This fight should have happened at Dynamite but will go down this May.

“Bellator 154: Davis vs. King Mo” takes place on May 14, and airs live on SPIKE at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT
