Floyd Mayweather says he owes the fans

Floyd Mayweather was on Kimmy Kimmel's show to promote his upcoming bout against Conor McGregor on August 26. The boxing match is being called "The Money Fight" since it has the undefeated boxing champion coming out of retirement to face the current lightweight champion of the UFC. While hardcore boxing and mixed martial arts fans see it as a circus, Mayweather believes otherwise.

Mayweather's last fight was against Andre Berto in September of 2015. Before that, he faced Manny Pacquiao in what is considered one of the biggest pay-per views in recent boxing history. However, his last two bouts were perceived by many as anticlimactic for the final bouts of his career.

"I feel I owe it the fans. Pacquiao and I didn't give them a blockbuster, me and McGregor should give them a blockbuster." -Floyd Mayweather
